The Tulip and the Pope: A Nun's Story
by OLP grad, Deborah Larsen (Class of 1959) comes
highly recommended by Cindy Pratt Woods (class of
1970). Larsen entered the order of the Sisters of
Charity BVM in 1960, when she was 19 years old. The
Washington Post called her book an "evocative and
intelligent memoir of the years she spent in the
convent." You can purchase the book at
www.amazon.com.
Mary Treacy O'Keefe (class of 1970) was
inspired to write
Thin Places: Where
Faith is Affirmed and Hope Dwells
after
the back-to-back deaths of her parents. It
can be ordered off her website at
www.marytreacyokeefe.com. Mary says
"the book seems to be particularly
helpful and comforting to anyone who is
losing or has lost a loved one." She also
co-founded and is Executive Director of
Well Within, a holistic wellness resource
center in West St. Paul. Well Within is
dedicated to helping people who live
with serious illnesses.
If you have any news and/or photos that you would like us to post on the OLP
News webpage, please send them to Pam Bailey at pbailey52@yahoo.com.
